Privacy Policy

This document is an electronic record in terms of Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder and the amended provisions pertaining to electronic records in various statutes as amended by the Information Technology Act, 2000. This electronic record is generated by a computer system and does not require any physical or digital signatures.

This website (www.petmama.in) and related mobile applications and mobile site (together referred to as the “Platform”) is owned and operated by Heroictails Private Limited (“Petmama”) having its Registered Office at 10/4F, Old 26, Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani, Kolkata, West Bengal-700020, India and is the sole owner, operator, author and publisher of the Platform. 

Petmama has created this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) to help the visitors, Customers and Partners (collectively, referred to as “you” and words of similar import) feel more confident about the privacy and security of your personal details and other information that Petmama may receive or collect when you engage with Petmama. By using the Platform (or even just browsing the Platform), you expressly consent to Petmama’s use and disclosure of your personal details and other information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This Policy will provide you information about Petmama’s collection, use, possession, transfer, processing, storage, dealing, disclosure, security and handling of the Personal Information (“PI”) and the Sensitive Personal Data (“SPD”).

This Policy incorporates and includes our Terms of Use (“Terms”). Words and phrases not defined in this Policy shall mean the same as provided in the Terms.

We are committed to adhere to the Information Technology Act, 2000 for the time being in force (“Act”) and the rules made thereunder.  

OUR PRIVACY PRACTICES

  1. Information we collect and how we collect information

When you use the Platform, we may collect the following information about you or your use of the Platform. 

  1. Personal Information (“PI”) of a person may include information and details shared during Account creation or registration on the Platform such as name, pin code, postal address, email address, telephone number, date of birth and payment method information. PI also include the following:

    1. Pet Information: Information about the pet including but not limited to name, age, breed, gender, colour, food and activities.

    2. Location: Information about your Internet connection, the equipment you use to access our Service and usage details; the geo-location of your device (using GPS or other geo-location data), when location services have been enabled for the browser accessing our Service;

    3. Device: Information about your device, such as the type and model, manufacturer, operating system (e.g. iOS or Android), carrier name, IP address, mobile browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari), and identifiers assigned to your device. 

    4. Visitor information: Visitors who choose to submit their information such as name, email address, phone number etc. to know more about the Platform services, take part in Petmama sponsored events or participate in surveys etc. 

  2. Sensitive Personal Data or information (“SPD”) of a person means such personal information  received by Petmama for processing or storing under this Policy or the Terms and may consist of information relating to passwords; physical, physiological and mental health condition; sexual orientation; medical records and history, Financial and KYC information and Biometric information. Your information including credit/debit card number, UPI ID, billing address, payment instrument details, etc may be collected by Paytm and RazorPay’s secure online payment system. Credit card information collected on the Platform is stored on Paytm and RazorPay secure sites and are available to Petmama for up to 30 days. Such information is governed by Paytm’s privacy policy and RazorPay’s privacy policy.

  3. User Content:  The content you may submit, upload, publish or otherwise make available including commentary or feedback related to Platform services or services provided through the Platform, initiation of support requests and submission of entries for competition and promotions.

  4. Information about other people: You may order goods or services or avail promotional offers for a person other than you (such as a gift) by providing their names, mobile numbers, email IDs and addresses. We rely on you to obtain the intended recipient's consent to our use of their personal information for these limited purposes.

  5. Usage data: We collect data about how you interact with our Platform. This includes data such as interaction patterns (such as screen actions, gestures: taps, scrolls) access dates and times, App features or pages viewed, App crashes and other system activity, type of browser, and third-party sites or services used before or in the course of interacting with our Platform.

  6. Data collected through cookies: In simple terms, “cookies” are data collectors on websites. Cookies usually collect information regarding user settings such as language and special preferences. They also collect other miscellaneous information such as the time you spend on our Platform. Information collected through cookies is used to analyse how you interact with our Platform, how well you respond to marketing promotions, and to make your shopping experience safer. You are free to disable our cookies on your browser, but that may prevent you from accessing all the features of our Platform. Disabling our cookies may also require you to re-enter your account (in the event you have one) password over and over.

  7. Information collected through advertisements: Our Platform may use third party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Platform. The data regarding the way you interact with these ads is also collected, analysed and stored by us. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Policy does not cover the use of cookies by any such advertisers. 

  1. How We Use the Information We Collect

    1. We use the information we collect to provide and improve Platform Services. For example, we use such information to optimize and improve our technologies and delivery of Platform Services. Where additional, optional information is sought, visitors will be notified of this at the point of collection. We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us in accordance with this Policy to:

    2. update you about the services and its contents to you, including your performance history and other data.

    3. provide you with information that you request from us.

    4. carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you, us and our payment processor, including for billing and collection.

    5. send you marketing/ promotional communications.

    6. send notifications, alerts, updates etc.

    7. allow you to participate in interactive features on the Platform .

    8. notify you about changes to Platform, Platform Services or any products or services offered or provided through the Platform.

    9. deter against any illegal, unauthorized and illegal activities.

    10. use visitors information without their knowledge, if required under any existing or future laws

  1. Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Platform and visiting your account profile page. You may also send us an email to request access to, correct or delete any Personal Information that you have provided to us. We may not accommodate a request to change Personal Information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

  1. Sharing With Third Parties and Partners

    1. Petmama will transfer information collected through the Platform to the Partners for provision of services and goods to the Customer. These Partners have agreed to adhere to strict confidentiality obligations in a way that is consistent with this Privacy Policy and the agreement Petmama enters with them.

    2. All the Platform Services which includes Partner services, have appropriate security measures to protect your data in line with our policies. We do not allow any third party to use your data for any purpose other than stated in this Policy. We permit them to process your data only for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions and conditions. By consenting to this Policy, you consent to your data being shared with our third-party service providers and Partners. 

  1. Use Discretion and Opt-out or Request Deletion

    1. The Platform provides all its visitors, Customers and Partners with an opportunity to opt-out or to stop sharing their information with us, they can reach us by contacting us at____________.

    2. We only store such information provided by you as long as it is necessary to provide Platform services to you. Information associated with your Account will be kept until the Account is deleted, or unless we no longer need the information to provide services, whichever is later. You also have the option to delete the Account that you created on the Platform at any point of time. When you delete the Account, Petmama will delete the information stored with us provided such information is not required for any services booked or products to be delivered to you.

  1. Data Storage and Security

    1. The data collected from you shall be stored securely in the database of Petmama and the same shall be maintained as per the Information Technology Act, 2000 read with Information Technology (Reasonable security practices and procedures and sensitive personal data or information) Rules, 2011 and such other laws as are applicable from time to time. 

    2. The Platform takes appropriate measures to protect information collected against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your PI and SPD stored on the Platform.

  1. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

  1. Grievances
